We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Talent Specialist, University Relations & Recruiting to join our Early Careers team. In this pivotal role, you will act as a key talent partner, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Early Careers. You will be instrumental in designing and executing impactful campus recruitment strategies, leveraging deep expertise in building and maintaining long-term university partnerships to cultivate diverse, high-caliber early talent pipelines.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Early Careers to align university recruiting strategies with strategic workforce planning initiatives across various Groups, Divisions, and Business Units.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for Leadership Development Programs and Early Career roles, covering everything from initial outreach and engagement through offer extension and onboarding.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with university career centers, academic deans, professors, and student organizations to significantly strengthen our talent pipeline.
  • Travel frequently (up to 50% during peak recruiting seasons) to universities and colleges nationwide to host and attend recruiting events, networking sessions, employer panels, and on-campus interviews.
  • Actively engage with student organizations, professional societies, and diversity groups to enhance brand visibility and attract top-tier talent.
  • Cultivate year-round partnerships with University Alumni networks to boost event participation, secure valuable referrals, and support offer closing processes.
  • Collaborate with Early Careers Recruitment Marketing and Employer Brand teams to develop and deliver compelling marketing content, presentations, and branded materials for campus and virtual recruiting events, ensuring a consistent and strong presence that positions Thermo Fisher Scientific as an employer of choice.
  • Partner with the Intern Programming Manager to co-facilitate Summer programming and support interns’ seamless transition into full-time roles.
  • Deliver a “white-glove” candidate experience, guiding students through the entire recruitment process and executing effective 'keep-warm' strategies for future hiring needs.
  • Leverage advanced ATS/CRM tools (Workday, Phenom People, Handshake) to efficiently manage pipelines, track engagement metrics, and report on the ROI of university partnerships.
  • Support alternate channels recruitment and pipelining efforts, including Veteran and trade program hiring initiatives.

Office Locations & Travel

Ideal candidates will be strategically based at one of the following Thermo Fisher Scientific office locations to fully support on-campus engagement with key University Partners:

  • Waltham, MA
  • Pittsburgh, PA
  • Carlsbad, CA
  • Wilmington, NC

Compensation & Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position based in Massachusetts is $90,000.00–$120,000.00, plus eligibility for an annual incentive plan, with salary aligned to cost-of-living expectations. The start date for this role is projected between March 2026 and April 2026.

How You’ll Get Here

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master's Degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of hands-on, Early Careers and Campus Recruitment experience supporting a large, global organization. Life Sciences or STEM-related industry experience is preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing comprehensive campus recruiting programs, including successful relationship-building with faculty, student organizations, and career services.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% during peak recruiting seasons and work flexible hours for evening or early-morning events.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to effectively partner with internal functions such as Employer Brand, Recruitment Marketing, and Early Careers leadership to deliver a unified strategy.
  • Proficient experience using key UR&R recruitment tools and platforms, specifically Workday, Phenom People, and Handshake.
  • Ability to apply Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure recruiting success and continuously improve strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence, executive presence, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a passion for early talent development.
