About the Role
The Global Security team at Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a diligent and motivated Security Data Analyst Intern. You will analyze data, manage information, and visualize trends through hands-on experience with security datasets, shaping visualization strategies and assisting with global security protection.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Organization: Assist in updating and maintaining key datasets (site profiles, leader information, incident logs, risk assessments, and security compliance trackers). Help clean, format, and coordinate data for easy ingestion into internal systems like Airtable and SharePoint.
Analysis & Reporting: Support trend analysis on incidents, investigations, risks, and compliance across global sites. Contribute to weekly or monthly reports for Global Security leadership.
Visualization & Presentations: Build charts, graphs, and maps for internal dashboards, leadership presentations, and security briefings. Develop user-friendly visuals to translate complex data into clear insights.
GSOC & Operations Support: Receive fundamental training in GSOC operations and tools. Provide support in the operations center during high-impact events or for analyst coverage.
What You’ll Learn
Gain insight into how global corporate security teams gather and respond to risk data. Experience hands-on data analytics in security operations, GSOC workflows, incident handling and intelligence tools. Learn to use tools such as Airtable, Power BI, Excel, and potentially Tableau or GIS platforms.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Excel and interest in tools like Power BI, Tableau, or GIS platforms.
- Passion for security, data organization, or risk management with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
