Manager, AI Search Optimization

As a Manager, AI Search Optimization at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll develop impactful marketing initiatives to enable our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner and safer. In this role, you'll support AI-driven search initiatives by developing AI-ready content, performing technical and on-page SEO checks, and using analytics to identify optimization opportunities and measure performance. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to improve search and AI visibility, ensure alignment with business priorities, and driving measurable marketing impact across digital channels.
Requirements
- Support AEO/GEO initiatives by building AI-ready content briefs and applying structured formats for answer engines and LLMs.
- Assist with topic prioritization, keyword, prompt and FAQ analysis, and content gap identification.
- Conduct technical and on-page checks, including schema validation, crawlability review, and visibility troubleshooting.
- Use dashboards and tools (GSC, SEMrush, Looker Studio, Adobe) to monitor performance, track errors, and surface insights.
- Participate in AI visibility testing; log issues such as misinformation, missing coverage, or hallucinations for escalation.
- Support multi-modal optimization efforts (blog, video, imagery) and updates across priority pages.
- Collaborate with divisional partners to ensure alignment with business goals and campaign priorities.
- Maintain documentation, templates, and process standards for AEO/GEO workflows.
- Coordinate with vendors or partners on basic tasks related to visibility or content optimization.
- Demonstrated success achieving marketing KPIs and business results.
- Ability to stay current with emerging marketing trends and technologies.
- Travel may be required (10-15%).
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in digital search, or content optimization.
- Understanding of technical fundamentals (schema, feature snippets, metadata, signals).
- Exposure to AI-driven search, structured content, or LLM optimization preferred.
- Hands-on experience with analytics and search tools (Looker Studio, GSC, SEMrush, Adobe, CMS).
- Experience supporting large websites or B2B/Life Sciences content is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to work effectively with remote teams (virtual team environment) in different time zones.
- Able to build relationships with key individuals necessary for collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, demonstrates natural leadership capabilities, able to thrive under tight deadlines and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, project management and proofreading skills.
- Moderate proficiency using Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams.
