We are actively seeking applications for upcoming Field Service Engineer roles within our Electron Microscope division, with anticipated openings in February/March across Italy, France & Germany, and more broadly throughout Europe. As a Field Service Engineer II, you will be crucial in enabling our Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) Electron Microscopy (EM) business to empower customers in accelerating breakthrough discoveries. Our EM business designs, manufactures, and supports a comprehensive range of high-performance microscopy workflow solutions, providing images and insights at micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.
How You Will Make an Impact:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide essential technical support and assistance, ensuring the efficient performance of critical equipment and systems. Your direct engagement with customers will be key to addressing their needs, guaranteeing customer satisfaction, and optimizing product efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage and complete complex service tasks.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all operations.
- Generate accurate and detailed service reports.
- Provide expert recommendations and technical solutions for complex issues.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific needs and tailor effective solutions.
- Offer technical training and mentorship to Field Service Engineer I colleagues.
- Actively participate in the creation of work schedules with team members and/or management.
- Provide valuable sales leads and feedback to support teams, contributing to business growth.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechatronics, electronics/engineering, or an equivalent field is required.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in a related field.
- University degree combined with hands-on technical experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analytical instruments.
- Prior experience with Electron-Microscopes or similar technology is highly advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- A keen interest in technology and current IT trends.
- Knowledge of electron microscopes is a significant advantage.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are essential for this role.
