About The Team & Culture

The Washington Post is powered by a collaborative team across various departments. The Food Critic will work closely with an award-winning Food team in a bustling D.C. newsroom, dedicated to delivering innovative journalism.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 7 years of food journalism experience.
  • Proven track record in restaurant/cultural criticism.
  • Deep knowledge of culinary trends and diverse cuisines.
  • Social media proficiency; video experience a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges from $97,400 to $162,300 based on qualifications, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, generous leave policies, parental leave, and more.
