About the Role: Food Critic

Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed restaurant reviews reflecting diverse dining options.
- Report emerging dining trends and notable food personalities.
- Offer cultural and historical insights on food and restaurant scenes.
- Engage with readers through on-site chats and social media.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and designers for multimedia storytelling.
About The Team & Culture
The Washington Post is powered by a collaborative team across various departments. The Food Critic will work closely with an award-winning Food team in a bustling D.C. newsroom, dedicated to delivering innovative journalism.
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 7 years of food journalism experience.
- Proven track record in restaurant/cultural criticism.
- Deep knowledge of culinary trends and diverse cuisines.
- Social media proficiency; video experience a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges from $97,400 to $162,300 based on qualifications, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, generous leave policies, parental leave, and more.
