The Opportunity: Senior Content Curation Specialist, Sports, Disney+
The Senior Content Curation Specialist, Sports, Disney+ will be instrumental in executing programming and content curation plans for Disney+. This role is critical for planning and executing content strategy and high-impact curation to ensure subscriber engagement through a calendar of editorial initiatives. These initiatives are designed to bolster content discovery and increase time spent viewing, which are vital for supporting key business KPIs such as subscriber retention and customer lifetime value. The successful candidate will become an expert and super-user of the Disney+ programming and curation tool.
This role is based in The Philippines.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, publish, and manage content on Disney+ within the Disney CMS to maximize audience engagement and retention.
- Ensure the Disney+ platform remains current with the latest content delivered through our workflow.
- Conduct quality assurance for content published to Disney+, verifying content playback, accurate placement, and ensuring all information is precise, localized, and meets the highest editorial standards.
- Identify, triage, and escalate urgent issues to appropriate support channels as needed.
- Collaborate closely with regional programming and content curation teams, as well as global teams, to wireframe the service weekly, prioritizing events and programs based on global/local requirements and adhering to the Disney+ editorial tone of voice.
- Work alongside marketing teams to ensure alignment of local messaging and agreed-upon content prioritization on the service.
- Assist in trafficking artwork assets and metadata.
- Partner with Product teams to test new CMS features aimed at improving the guest experience.
- Facilitate verbal and written communications across teams and the wider organization to ensure seamless information-sharing, issue resolution, and workload transitions.
- Track merchandising area performance over time. Utilize assigned market and service behavior data, along with audience research, to inform data-driven analytics for effective programming strategies.
- Work closely with Lifecycle and Brand & Content Marketing to accurately communicate business priorities in line with the broader content marketing strategy.
- Support Regional Programming initiatives as required.
Professional Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Deep understanding of The Walt Disney Company's content library, brands, franchises, and characters.
- Prior experience in the streaming industry is an advantage.
- Previous experience in data analysis is a plus.
- Comprehensive expertise in digital or sports media platforms, including hands-on management of web, app, streaming, and connected devices.
- Proven ability to navigate a matrixed organization while maintaining self-motivation.
- Demonstrated capacity to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Experience with content planning tools; Airtable preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Diplomatic mindset with proven teamwork abilities in matrixed organizations.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple demands and priorities for self and others.
- Quickly adapt to new technologies and excel in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
