About the role
Job Summary
The UTA Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program (CWEP) allows undergraduate and graduate students to gain real-world work skills and abilities relevant to their academic and career goals. This program is one of numerous UTA initiatives designed to increase meaningful engagement between the University and the corporate community. It aligns with UTA’s Maverick Advantage program, which prepares students for careers through experiential, hands-on learning opportunities.
CWEP is a 2-semester-long program open to both undergraduates and graduate students. CWEPs can work up to 25 hours per week during spring and fall semesters, and up to 40 hours per week during breaks with supervisor approval. This is a paid opportunity for students, with pay based on class standing and the specific position assigned (technical vs. non-technical).
Please note, students will not earn academic credit for participating in the College Work Experience program as this is not a “for credit” program.
Required Qualifications
- Majors considered for technical roles: Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics. All other majors should apply for CWEP non-technical roles.
- Students must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person.
- Undergraduate and Graduate students must be in good academic standing.
- Students must have completed at least one semester at UTA prior to applying.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at UTA for Fall and Spring Semesters (Undergraduate: 12 hours; Graduate: 9 hours).
- College credits from other institutions must be in addition to full-time enrollment at UTA.
- Students must agree to background screening and urine drug screening.
- Students are not allowed to hold another employed position without the approval of the CWEP Coordinator.
- Students are NOT permitted to hold other paid positions on campus while participating.
- UTA will consider and approve applicants without regard to legally protected characteristics or mental/physical disability, provided essential functions can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
