IT Procurement Analyst
As an IT Procurement Analyst at The University of Kansas Health System, you will be a key player in managing the IT procurement process, from vendor evaluation to contract negotiation, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of IT goods and services. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including IT, finance, and operations, to streamline procurement activities and enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Manage the entire IT procurement lifecycle, including identifying sourcing needs, gathering requirements, market research, and vendor selection.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure favorable terms and pricing to achieve optimal procurement outcomes.
- Collaborate with IT teams and business units to understand technology requirements and develop strategic procurement plans.
- Conduct ongoing supplier evaluations, manage vendor relationships, monitor performance, resolve issues, and perform periodic reviews.
- Track and analyze procurement data, such as spend, savings, and supplier performance, to identify trends and inform process improvements.
- Support the development and implementation of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Assist with purchase order management, including verification, approval, and documentation.
- Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and changes in vendor landscapes to support decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Work with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of procurement-related financial data.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes, policies, and compliance requirements.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; OR 2-4 years of proven experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or similar roles.
- Experience in healthcare or higher-education is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as IAITAM, IBSMA, CSCP, or CPIM are a plus.
- Solid understanding of procurement principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills for building effective vendor and stakeholder relationships.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and systems, including e-sourcing platforms and contract management software.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, hardware and software licensing models, and emerging technologies.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
