About The Trade Desk
Our Software Engineers at The Trade Desk are end-to-end owners. They design, build, and deliver data-focused products for stakeholders while focusing on quality at scale. The role involves building backend infrastructure, client-facing applications, internal tools and model pipelines for bidding optimizations.
Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer - Platform API, you will design, build, and maintain full lifecycle software systems. You will tackle algorithmic, optimization, and scalability challenges in a distributed environment and mentor team members while driving complex changes.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deliver, and own software from inception to production
- Implement and maintain product features with automated tests and monitoring
- Work in a distributed system environment serving global traffic
- Lead projects with technical ambiguity and mentor teammates
- Collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to drive quality changes
- Participate in hiring and contribute to success criteria development
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in languages such as C#, Java, C, C++, Python, SQL, or Scala
- Experience with distributed systems and agile methodologies
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in computer science or equivalent experience
- Exposure to database engines, micro-services, Kubernetes, and Kafka (nice-to-have)
Benefits & Compensation
Competitive base salary range of $190,000—$210,000 USD along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, retirement, disability coverage, paid time off, and an employee stock purchase plan.
