Overview of the Senior Research Pharmacist Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Research Pharmacist will elevate the department's reputation and service by coordinating clinical trials, educating staff, and overseeing pharmacy operations within an assigned area of the RCRC.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates and collaborates on clinical investigational drug trials.
- Provides expert support and educates staff on pharmaceutical protocols.
- Ensures accurate and efficient medication dispensing processes.
- Oversees all pharmacy operations within the designated clinical research area.
- Manages essential administrative tasks and internal/external communication.
- Performs cross-functional duties and contributes to patient care initiatives.
- Undertakes other assigned duties and special projects as required.
Required Qualifications
- Pharm.D. degree is mandatory.
- Current Registered Pharmacist licensure with the NYS Board of Pharmacy.
- Commitment to maintaining NYS regulatory, educational, and licensure requirements, including 15 ACPE-approved CE hours annually.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar research environment.
- Comfortable and proficient in presenting to large groups and senior leadership.
- Requires an in-person, onsite presence.
- Proficiency in computer platforms, including MS Office Suite.
- Strong technical proficiency and quantitative skills are essential.
- Highest level of discretion required for handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work diplomatically and efficiently in a dynamic, high-demand research setting.
- Passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proactive initiative and self-motivation are critical attributes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience within an academic or research institution is highly advantageous.
- A focused background in clinical research is preferred.
