The new Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC), named the “Rockefeller University Clinical Research Center” (RCRC), underscores The Rockefeller University's commitment to advancing scientific understanding for humanity's benefit through clinical and basic research. This outpatient D&TC reflects the evolving landscape of clinical research towards outpatient studies.
Overview of the Clinical Research Nurse Role
Four (4) positions are available for a Clinical Research Nurse, reporting to the Clinical Trials Nurse Manager. This vital role emphasizes patient screening, enrollment, treatment administration, and data collection within the Diagnostic and Treatment Center, ensuring strict compliance and paramount patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Executes and coordinates clinical trials, blending patient care with research protocols.
- Screens and enrolls study participants according to established criteria.
- Administers investigational treatments as per study guidelines.
- Collects and meticulously manages study data.
- Educates participants comprehensively about the clinical study.
- Collaborates effectively with investigators, study coordinators, and healthcare staff.
- Drives the advancement of research and improvement of patient outcomes.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A BSN is mandatory, coupled with a current NYS RN license.
- Must hold a BCLS certification and possess a minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
- This position requires in-person, onsite presence.
- Proficiency in computer platforms, including MS Office Suite, is essential.
- Strong technical proficiency and quantitative skills are a must.
- Demonstrates the highest level of discretion when handling confidential information.
- A commitment to advancing research and patient outcomes, alongside the ability to collaborate across clinical and research teams, is crucial.
- Passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Initiative and self-motivation are critical attributes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience within an academic, medical, or research institution is highly preferred.
