About the Role
The Senior Business Transformation Leader at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey plays a pivotal role in advancing high-impact business transformation initiatives. Reporting to the Director of the Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI), this role serves as both a strategist and practitioner to drive enterprise-wide transformation aligned with agency priorities.
About The Office Of Continuous Improvement
OCI implements the agency’s continuous improvement framework using Lean, Six Sigma, design thinking, and automation technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI). It also oversees a training and certification program to embed continuous improvement into the culture.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and implement tailored strategies.
- Build a pipeline of projects aligned with strategic objectives.
- Coach and lead project teams to deliver high-impact results.
- Teach and mentor future practitioners in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Develop new methods, tools, and approaches for business process transformation.
- Leverage emerging technologies like AI to optimize processes.
- Lead cross-functional teams addressing urgent agency challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience; minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in operations, business management, technology strategy, or project management; four years applying continuous improvement methodologies; certification (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred; program implementation experience in a large organization.

- At least two years of experience implementing AI solutions.
- Proven success in business transformation with measurable outcomes.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and change management skills.
- Effective leadership and people management, including planning and delegation.
- Experience engaging with senior executive leadership.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
