Access & Equity Intern at The Ocean Race

Your Role
As an Access & Equity Intern, you will support the development and delivery of initiatives that aim to embed inclusion across The Ocean Race — from events and teams to partnerships and global audiences. This is a hands-on, learning-driven role, where you will contribute to real projects while developing practical experience in social impact and inclusive practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the delivery of Access & Equity initiatives across programmes and events
- Contribute to research and insights shaping our DEI strategy
- Help develop inclusive communications and storytelling
- Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and community stakeholders
- Provide project and operational support across multiple workstreams

What We’re Looking For
You don’t need extensive experience — but you do need mindset.
- Passion for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Access
- Background or studies in relevant fields (social impact, sport, sustainability, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and interest in inclusive messaging
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing multiple tasks
- Curious, reflective, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working in a remote, international environment
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student in a university or educational institution
- Ability to formalise a practical training agreement (internship agreement) between The Ocean Race and the relevant university or educational centre
- Fluent in English (written & spoken)
- Availability for the full internship period
