This team is dedicated to enhancing the user journey across the Etsy marketplace, focusing on creating exceptional Discovery, Search, and Listing experiences. Their mission is to reduce friction for buyers, ensuring a seamless and inspiring shopping journey. The team operates as a cross-functional unit, comprising engineers, product managers, designers, product marketers, data analysts, and user researchers. Collaboration and continuous learning through data, user feedback, experimentation, and iteration are key to their holistic approach to improving the buyer experience.About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with expertise in React, TypeScript, and PHP. The ideal candidate will possess strong web development experience and be capable of quickly integrating into the existing codebase. You will be expected to deliver work with minimal supervision and refine moderately complex, loosely scoped projects.Skills And Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven web development experience, with a desire for continuous growth.
- Experience building web applications using both back-end and front-end technologies, specifically PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React.
- Comfort in collaborating closely with product managers and designers, contributing estimates and product ideas to shape the team's roadmap.
- A strong sense of ownership, taking projects from ideation through to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, characterized by mindfulness, transparency, and thoughtfulness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Scala, Airflow, or a basic understanding of ML algorithms and recommendation systems is a plus.
- A passion for tackling customer and product-focused challenges, with an equal commitment to building great products and writing great code.
- A proactive approach to experimentation, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods to drive decision-making.
- An enjoyment of mentorship, both as a mentor and a mentee.
Hours and Location
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
- 100% remote, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.
