Data and Analytics – Product Owner (CD)

Join The Magnum Ice Cream Company, a global leader in the Ice Cream industry with a turnover of €7.9bn in 2023. We are a key player in the 1 trillion snacking and refreshment industry, experiencing consistent high-paced growth. Our portfolio includes top-selling brands like Wall's, Magnum, and Ben & Jerry's. We are dedicated to unlocking the full growth potential of Ice Cream as a standalone entity and are committed to developing and nurturing talent within our organization. Your career development is a priority, and we offer ample opportunities for growth and exploration across the new company structure. We invite you to help us build the next chapter of our Ice Cream history.

About Ice Cream

The Magnum Ice Cream Company is the world's largest global Ice Cream Company, boasting over 100 years of experience in delivering diverse, indulgent, and responsible craft food experiences. With a commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability, we manage 35 brands, including three billion-euro brands (Magnum, Wall's, Ben & Jerry's). We have a strong presence in over 60 countries, generating annual revenue exceeding $8 billion. Our brands transform moments into memories through products that are indulgent yet responsibly made and marketed. We have a clear strategy focused on growth and value creation, defining where to play and how to win.

Challenges & Opportunities

Data is crucial for our future growth. You will tackle key challenges and opportunities in our data transformation:

  • Modernize a Fragmented Landscape: Assist in building a unified, state-of-the-art data platform to replace legacy systems and non-standardized tools.
  • Drive a New Culture: Foster a data-driven mindset by developing solutions on a platform that empowers the business with accessible, reliable, and actionable insights.
  • Deliver Tangible Value: Design and implement solutions using our new Data Lakehouse (built on Databricks, dbt, Fivetran) to unlock measurable business value, simplify processes, and enable advanced analytics and AI.

Job Purpose

As The Magnum Ice Cream Company becomes operationally independent from Unilever, it is vital to execute our data and analytics strategy. This ensures the business is equipped with the necessary analytical solutions for daily decision-making. As Product Owner for D&A Customer Development products, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy for analytical products within the customer development space. Your scope includes the design and delivery of critical D&A products in customer development that enhance sales effectiveness, revenue growth, and customer insights for TMICC. You will also guide the business through transformation while ensuring operational continuity during program execution.

Key Responsibilities

As Market Actions lead for your geography, you will:

  • Serve as the primary technology partner to commercial, supply chain, market operations, and brand teams, ensuring data initiatives directly support business priorities like market share growth, service levels, cost efficiencies, and route-to-market excellence.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to shape multi-year digital and data roadmaps aligned with category, brand, and regional growth strategies.
  • Translate FMCG business challenges (e.g., demand volatility, distributor performance, promotion effectiveness, inventory optimization) into actionable, data-driven solutions.
  • Partner with data engineering, governance, and analytics teams to build scalable solutions supporting core FMCG processes: demand forecasting, S&OP, trade promotion analytics, supply chain visibility, pricing and assortment analytics, shopper insights, and route-to-market effectiveness.
  • Enable adoption of enterprise data platforms and self-service tools across commercial teams, factories, and distribution networks.
  • Work closely with Data engineering teams to ensure data models reflect FMCG realities (SKU proliferation, channel variations, promotions, seasonality, and complex supply chains).
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing clarity on delivery timelines, dependencies, and value outcomes.
  • Manage alignment across multiple business units, markets, categories, and global/regional data teams, balancing speed with feasibility.
  • Navigate competing priorities in fast-paced, high-volume environments while maintaining strong business trust.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable across markets, categories, and distributors.
  • Drive adoption of new dashboards, forecasting tools, DMS upgrades, AI-enabled solutions, and digital ways of working.
  • Lead communication, training, and capability-building initiatives tailored to specific markets.
  • Promote data literacy to support agile, insight-driven decision-making across the organization.

What You Need To Succeed

We seek a strategic thinker with a passion for hands-on innovation. You should be an effective communicator who thrives on solving complex problems. This role demands a blend of analytical and CD functional skills, along with strong stakeholder management. An ideal candidate will possess:

  • 6–8+ years in IT business partnering, commercial analytics, data strategy, digital transformation, or related domains.
  • Experience in FMCG, consumer products, retail, or other fast-paced sectors is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence senior commercial, supply chain, and finance stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills tailored for high-speed FMCG decision cycles.
  • Experience running cross-functional delivery teams and managing complex requirement landscapes.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.

Leadership Qualities

  • Personal Mastery: Sets high standards, demonstrates emotional intelligence, takes feedback, manages mood and motivations, and builds empathy.
  • Passion for High Performance: Generates intensity and focus to motivate people to deliver results at speed. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for execution and results.
  • Consumer Love: Invests time to understand consumer needs, both internally and externally.
  • Business Acumen: Creates sustainable growth with purpose, engaging various partners for change.
