About The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)

Role: Research Assistant

We are looking to hire a highly-skilled and motivated individual to work under the direction of Professor Sandra Sequeira. This Research Assistant role entails close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing projects in applied microeconomics, development economics, and political economy. The projects utilize “big data” and experimental and quasi-experimental methods to identify causal effects and test economic model predictions.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and/or a completed (or nearly completed) Master’s degree in economics or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills.
  • Strong programming skills and confidence with various data management software.
  • The ability to manage own areas of responsibility independently without constant direct supervision.
  • Essential experience in Stata and Python.
  • Desirable experience in machine learning.
