Job Description
The Technical Trainer I is a full-time position in the LF Education department responsible for assisting and supporting the VP of Education's effort in course development and technical training. The Linux Foundation is a 100% remote (work from home) organization. Some travel may be required for conferences and onsite training.
- Work closely with VP of Education on technical training and course development with an emphasis on AI.
- Develop and teach Linux Foundation courses.
- Maintain curriculum, agendas, communications, and materials.
- Utilize adult learning theory and current learner knowledge to create interactive and engaging learning solutions.
- Assist with curriculum development and maintenance.
- Evaluate outcomes and continuously improve course material.
- Collaborate with teammates from other training and departmental teams.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal customers to gather content and develop blended learning solutions (instructor-led, virtual, e-learning).
- Complete research and testing tasks as assigned by the training program director.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the training program director.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Support LF GitHub repository hygiene by reviewing access, ensuring format consistency, and cleaning content.
- Maintain Confluence documentation reviews and updates to reflect current processes.
- Work with Projects early in the conceptual phase to ensure content meets audience needs.

- Willing to shift schedules a few days a month to accommodate global time zones for calls and classes.
- Always keeps an eye on the Foundation's overall mission and goals.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience creating technical content.
- Experience presenting technical content to adults.
Preferred:
- Open source software familiarity.
- Bachelor degree.
- Experience using LaTex.
- Proficiency in business technologies including GitHub, Google Apps and Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Experience using Linux or Unix systems.
- Teaching experience.
