Overview
The Marketing Specialist at The Independence Center is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies. This role covers internal and external communications, print collateral, events, video production, photography, website/social media management, and promotional activities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the marketing team on comprehensive strategies and campaigns.
- Assist with planning and coordination of internal and external communications.
- Create and maintain print collateral ensuring brand consistency.
- Support website, social media channels, and online reputation management.
- Work with various departments to align marketing initiatives with organizational goals.
- Plan, promote, and execute internal and external promotional activities.
- Assist in designing and producing the monthly newsletter.
- Deliver presentations on The IC’s services and impact.
- Provide administrative support and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities

- Experience with WordPress, HTML, and SEO/SEM.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office, Teams, Zoom, and other computer programs.
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Acrobat.
- Extraordinary customer service and effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, with a minimum of two years’ experience required. Experience working with people with disabilities and lived experience with a disability are preferred.
Travel & Working Conditions
This role may require local travel for meetings with partners, collaborators, and vendors. A valid driver’s license and car insurance are necessary. The position is primarily office-based with extended computer use; reasonable accommodations may be provided as needed.
