Job Overview
The Visual Designer is responsible for crafting high-quality, user-centric digital assets specifically for homedepot.ca. This position demands a strong understanding of visual hierarchy, usability principles, and design systems thinking. You will be instrumental in executing customer-facing experiences across various digital touchpoints, including banners, landing pages, campaign modules, and promotional content. Collaboration with stakeholders is key to ensuring consistency, accessibility, and optimal performance across all digital interactions, contributing to the continuous improvement of visual standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver polished, accessible digital assets for homedepot.ca, encompassing responsive webpages, campaign modules, banners, e-commerce content, and emails.
- Translate creative briefs and direction into high-quality layouts, mockups, wireframes, and final production files optimized for both desktop and mobile.
- Apply responsive design principles and accessibility best practices to ensure seamless performance across all breakpoints and screen sizes.
- Collaborate closely with developers, UX specialists, marketing, and business teams to ensure flawless execution and alignment with project objectives.
- Maintain and actively utilize established design libraries, component systems, and style guides, while also recommending improvements where beneficial.
- Support the ongoing development of visual standards by contributing to digital design systems, comprehensive documentation, and pattern libraries.
- Design and author content directly within content management systems (CMS), ensuring optimal structure, consistency, and usability.
- Create production-ready assets, organize files efficiently, and resize/adapt visuals for diverse platforms or promotional requirements.
- Source and manage imagery from internal Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and stock libraries to effectively support creative concepts.
- Design logos, icons, infographics, and other supporting visuals that reinforce overarching brand consistency.
- Participate actively in project briefs, creative reviews, retrospectives, and cross-functional planning discussions.
- Conduct thorough quality checks and visual QA testing across various environments to ensure flawless publishing and implementation.
- Stay current on the latest design trends, tools, and performance-based best practices in UX, layout, and interactive design.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining high creative quality.

Skills & Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with HTML and CSS, and basic front-end development is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager.
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
- Understanding of digital accessibility standards.
- Solid illustration and design skills.
- Strong foundation in typography, layout, and overall design principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand designs and visual elements.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of visual styles.

- Experience working with and designing within content management systems.
- Strong design portfolio with at least 4-6 years of experience, with e-commerce experience preferred.

- The ability to effectively take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously.
- A bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in Design, Multimedia, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in graphic/digital design.
- Previous leadership experience is considered an asset.
- 1-3 years’ experience with Adobe Experience Manager.
- Experience with Jira considered an asset.
- Advanced capability in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Bilingual (English/French) will be considered an asset.
Work Environment & Benefits
The Home Depot Canada offers a competitive pay range of $65,000 - $95,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and growth. The role is a hybrid position, requiring 4 days in-office at the Toronto Store Support Centre (SSC) beginning in September. Travel to the Toronto Store Support Location is required quarterly. The physical requirements include extended sitting and repetitive tasks, in a typical office setting involving computer work, virtual meetings, and support calls.
