Overview

The Hanover Insurance Group, with over 170 years of legacy, is seeking a Sr. Commercial General Liability Adjuster. This role involves managing multi-state commercial claims with high complexity through analysis, investigation, negotiation, and resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily telephone contacts with policyholders, risk managers, and agents.
  • Analyze, investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve complex commercial claims.
  • Handle assignments with significant authority and technical expertise.
  • Identify suspicious claims and manage claims including hearings, arbitrations, and small claims litigation.
  • Provide mentoring, training, and act as a technical resource.
  • Review contracts, leases, and identify risk transfer opportunities.
  • Write positional coverage letters.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Commercial General Liability experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Industry designation preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt and make independent decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and paperless claims systems.
  • Maintain required state adjuster licenses and continuing education credits.
