Lead Teacher - Early Childhood Education

General Qualifications
- Ability to understand and support the "learning through play" educational philosophy.
- Ability to interact closely and effectively with children at their level.
- Excellent communication skills with school personnel, children, and parents.
- Compliance with all applicable childcare laws and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for child handling, safety, and emergency situations.
Educational Qualifications
- A CDA (Child Development Associate) or some college credits in any field, with a commitment to complete 6 hours of Early Childhood Education courses within one year of employment (tuition assistance available).
- OR Two years of experience in a Licensed Early Childhood Center.
- OR A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood field.
Lead Teacher Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
- Support each child’s social and emotional development with positive guidance.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that foster self-esteem and social skills.
- Respect and celebrate cultural and ethnic diversity in the classroom.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with families.
- Maintain a portfolio for each child, documenting their progress and development.
- Utilize assessment tools such as Progress Reports and Children’s Progress.
- Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences, and engage in professional growth opportunities.
