We are seeking a Full Time Building Operator to join the Front Line Team of the Club, who will support the team on operations and maintenance of mechanical systems. As the Building Operator you will provide a high level of service that ensures that all building components are operating efficiently and that the building is aesthetically in pristine condition. You will also provide services which enhance the users’ enjoyment in all areas of the Club, this is accomplished by providing a clean and safe environment and by providing assistance in the areas of facility maintenance throughout the Club.
Responsibilities
- Effectively prioritize and address work orders, handling them autonomously, promptly, and efficiently to consistently enhance overall member experience
- Monitor day to day operations including operating building automation systems, including repairs and maintenance of the Club’s HVAC equipment including pumps, motors, fans and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- General building operations and related tasks such as repair/replacement, assembling furniture, basic carpentry, basic plumbing
- Maintain boiler water chemistry and ensure optimal boiler operating conditions
- Support pool operations including filtration/testing and seasonal groundskeeping tasks such as snow removal
- Carry out ongoing, proactive, and scheduled Club maintenance to ensure a safe, reliable, and well-maintained Club environment
Qualifications
- Alberta Boilers Safety Association Fifth Class Power Engineer certification required
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in general building operations and maintenance
- Working experience with building automation systems (Siemens, JCI Metasys)
- Perform maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, lighting and other electrical systems
- Previous experience working with low pressure heating boilers
- Proficient in reading and understanding building plans and technical documentation
- Well-rounded handyman skills to perform general repair and maintenance work
- Relevant Red Seal trade (electrical, plumbing, carpentry) certification would be an asset
- Experience in hospitality, recreation, commercial kitchens and pools would be an asset
- Experience with ammonia plants would be an asset
- Ability to balance strong teamwork skills with the ability to independently complete tasks and follow through on responsibilities

Additional Details
This is a Full-Time salaried position that reports to the Facilities Manager. The successful candidate will work 7:00am-3:30pm Monday to Friday, and an on-call rotation every 5th week with hours 9:00am to 5:30pm.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace online certifications prior to commencing employment.
