Embedded Software Engineer - Linea Research
Based in Letchworth Garden City or Great Bookham with a hybrid arrangement, this is a permanent full time position. Linea Research Ltd, part of Focusrite Group PLC, designs and manufactures high performance audio electronics for the professional market. Our amplifiers and processors are used in prestigious venues globally, making us the leading manufacturer of professional amplifiers in the UK.
Role Overview
Join our software department to develop firmware critical to our products. You will be involved in taking new hardware from initial power-up to running main(), writing low level drivers, test code, unit tests, and interfacing with common serial protocols such as I2C, UART, and SPI.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and debug embedded C/C++ firmware
- Create and test low level drivers and unit tests
- Work with real-time operating systems and network stacks
- Utilize embedded debugging tools including JTAG and Arm Cortex SWD
- Read circuit diagrams and use electronics test equipment
Additional Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Python and C#.NET
- Experience with SQL, Azure, Jenkins, and GitHub
- Knowledge of ARM cored processors and Digital Signal Processing
- An interest in audio equipment or the audio/music industry
