Job Overview

The Copper River Family of Companies is seeking an experienced Construction Engineering Technician to support quality assurance, safety management, and technical coordination on active construction projects administered by NAVFAC and USACE in New London, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contractor compliance with approved Quality Control Plans and participate in three-phase inspections.
  • Conduct site inspections, witness system tests, and support critical system commissioning.
  • Verify materials compliance, document progress, and support closeout activities.
  • Review safety planning documents, perform periodic safety assessments, and support mishap investigations.
  • Coordinate permits, utility outages, site access, submittals, and technical input.
  • Assist Contracting Officer and Construction Manager with documentation and contract modifications.
  • Communicate field issues and risks proactively to the Government Construction Manager.

Essential Qualifications

Active Secret Security Clearance is required along with relevant experience: either 5+ years as a Quality Control Manager for NAVFAC/USACE projects or 10+ years as a trade foreman in related fields. Certification in Construction Quality Management (CQM) and a valid OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety card (or ability to obtain within specified timeframes) are also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with NAVFAC/USACE clients, federal acquisition processes, construction scheduling, and proficiency in reporting/project systems such as RMS/QCS, ieFacman, and MS Project.

Travel & Culture
