Construction Engineering Technician
Copper River Technologies is seeking an experienced Construction Engineering Technician (CET) to provide on-site support for NAVFAC and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) construction projects in Philadelphia, PA.
The role involves ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and technical oversight for large-scale commercial, industrial, and military projects. Working closely with the Construction Manager, contractors, and government stakeholders, the technician will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with government standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the Construction Quality Management (CQM) program.
- Review contractor Quality Control (QC) plans and provide recommendations.
- Conduct initial, follow-up, and preparatory inspections with checklist accuracy.
- Inspect construction activities, materials, and workmanship against specifications.
- Validate material quantities, conditions, and invoices before government approval.
- Review and witness testing/commissioning of systems (HVAC, electrical, etc.).
- Maintain project documentation including daily reports and quality records.
- Review AHAs and Accident Prevention Plans to support safety programs.
- Monitor contractor compliance with NAVFAC P-307 crane safety requirements.
- Assist with drawings, specifications, RFIs, schedule reviews, and contract modifications.
- Support pre-bid site visits, preconstruction meetings, and contractor kickoff conferences.
- Coordinate temporary utilities, permits, and as-built documentation.
