About African Diaspora Group
African Diaspora Group (ADG) is a nonprofit organization focused on identity restoration and reintegration of the African diaspora to the continent. Through the values of Community, Advocacy, Restoration, and Education, ADG creates programs that connect diasporans with their roots, preserve African heritage, and foster sustainable pathways for cultural and economic reintegration. Our initiatives include storytelling projects, advocacy campaigns, educational resources, and community engagement designed to bridge ancestral knowledge with contemporary identity.
Purpose
The Communications & Content Lead will drive storytelling, social media, and public outreach efforts to increase visibility and deepen engagement with the African Diaspora Group’s mission. This role is key to amplifying our programs, advocacy work, and community impact through creative content and strategic communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a social media and content calendar across platforms.
- Design engaging graphics, videos, and stories that highlight programs, advocacy initiatives, and diaspora community impact.
- Monitor audience engagement and analytics, adapting strategies to grow reach and visibility.
- Collaborate with team members to share organizational updates, promote events, and ensure consistent messaging.
- Support campaigns and storytelling initiatives that strengthen identity restoration, cultural preservation, and diaspora reintegration.
Qualifications
- Strong background in communications, digital marketing, or content creation.
- Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok).
- Skills in graphic design and video editing (Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools).
- Excellent writing and storytelling ability.
- Experience working with community organizations, nonprofits, or cultural initiatives preferred.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate across teams.
