About the Team

The Systeem Integratie & Test (SI&T) department within Thales Netherlands Naval is responsible for the system integration and testing of radar equipment (such as antennas, transmitters, receivers) as well as testing the complete system throughout its lifecycle. This department also handles installation and commissioning onboard, system performance testing and provides services such as Health Checks, Technical Assistance, and Repairs.

About Your Future Job as System Test Engineer

You will work in an engaging and technically challenging domain involving the integration of radar and electro-optical systems. These systems include state-of-the-art radar antennas, processing, and support systems. As a System Test Engineer, you join a test team working throughout the lifecycle of these systems. Your work will take place both at Thales facilities and on client locations (including onboard ships) globally.

  • Independently integrate and test radar and electro-optical systems.
  • Conduct on-site testing at ports and sea-based locations.
  • Evaluate system performance in an operational environment.
  • Act as a troubleshooter for technical and performance issues.
  • Provide services such as system health checks, maintenance, and repair.

We are seeking a practical colleague interested in working with both established and emerging technologies to support our products during their extended lifecycle. A relevant MBO/HBO/WO diploma in fields such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Technical Physics or Mechatronics is required. Familiarity with radar systems, analog techniques, Linux terminal, or computer networks is a plus. Good command of English (spoken and written) is essential, and additional language skills are advantageous. Analytical, problem-solving abilities and cultural sensitivity are key.
