About the Product and Team

As a Senior UI Designer at Thales, you will join the UX-UI Design discipline and the DATX product team. You will contribute to a large-scale project central to the digital transformation of our industrial tools. Within the Thales Group and the CIDS (Component Intelligent Digital Solution) Tribe, you will participate in a strategic project to completely revamp the component repository system used in defining and developing Thales products. The Product team designs and evolves a strategic data platform used by expert business profiles (engineers, analysts, technical and operational teams). The environment is international (France + teams abroad) and structured into multidisciplinary agile teams. The context is rich with challenges: complex user journeys, consistency issues, and strong collaboration between Product, Tech, and Design.Your mission will be to design an ergonomic, modern, and scalable user interface for a centralized industrial catalog. This catalog contains detailed technical, regulatory, and compliance data used daily by thousands of internal and external users. You will work closely with an UX Designer (responsible for UXR + wireframes) and collaborate daily with Product Owners (PO), Chief Product Owners (CPO), developers, and architects. Your role will be crucial in transforming access to complex information into a fluid, intuitive, and engaging experience, meeting the demands of a rigorous technical environment and accessibility standards.

About the UX-UI Design Discipline

The UX-UI Design discipline brings together passionate designers with diverse backgrounds (product, service, research, visual, design ops...). Your Profile

  • Senior UI Designer with at least 8 years of experience, including significant time on complex digital products or those with high technical stakes (business platforms, data environments, cloud, internal tools, etc.).
  • Experience working within diverse structures and teams on various project types and sizes.
  • Strong ability to produce clear, coherent, and high-quality interfaces, even in complex technical environments, by structuring screens and graphic components into a consistent and aesthetic whole.
  • Excellent command of UI fundamentals (typography, composition, visual hierarchy, interactions, and micro-interactions), as well as principles of ergonomics, accessibility, and attractiveness.
  • Rigorous and creative, with a detail-oriented approach while maintaining a global product vision.
  • Proficiency in structuring, rationalizing, and documenting design to make it reusable, scalable, and easily shareable within the team.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with developers, understanding technical logic and constraints.
  • Natural leadership, capable of positive influence, team engagement, and reasoned defense of design choices.
  • Excellent command of Figma and experience with Design Systems, including contributing to their evolution (creating components, guidelines, documentation...).
  • Knowledge or experience in user research (interviews, analysis, synthesis).
  • Specific experience with data-centric products and advanced data models is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the user-centered approach, applied through a verification/validation loop integrated into the product cycle (testing, iteration, adjustments).
  • Comfortable in an agile/lean context, working within cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in French and English (C1 level, oral and written).

Your Missions

  • Transform complex business needs, expressed through journey maps, workflows, and wireframes, into simple, effective, and coherent visual solutions.
  • Design high-quality UI interfaces: mockups, prototypes, specifications, and oversee their implementation through to final integration.
  • Actively contribute to the evolution of the Design System (components, documentation, guidelines) and ensure its proper use across products.
  • Ensure user interfaces are accessible and comply with standards and best practices (accessibility, readability, usability).
  • Conduct or co-lead user interface tests, validate hypotheses, analyze results, and propose improvements.
  • Lead and co-lead workshops (ideation, co-design, design reviews/critiques) and product alignment sessions with stakeholders.
  • Support product development and monitor the implementation of design recommendations through close collaboration with development teams (handoff, feasibility, technical constraints).
  • Establish and maintain a continuous measurement/validation loop to confirm solutions against real user behaviors and refine design choices.
  • Effectively communicate design decisions, recommendations, and their justifications to stakeholders (PO, CPO, Tech Lead, team members).
  • Participate in defining and prioritizing features and translating them into the backlog.
  • Contribute to the UX strategy and design vision for products.
  • Promote Design culture within the organization.
  • Maintain active awareness of design methods, trends, and tools (UI, Design System, prototyping, collaboration...) and propose continuous improvements to the workflow and design stack.
