About The Project: TACTICOS
Within our Engineering cluster, the Naval business unit collaborates across the Thales group to develop advanced combat and information management systems for navy ships. This includes integrating with sensors and weapon systems and developing sophisticated sensor processing applications. These complex systems feature advanced solutions for information processing, management, and user interaction with both sensor and weapon systems. Our flagship product, TACTICOS, provides essential support for diverse combat missions, from anti-piracy operations to ballistic missile defense.
About The Job: Platform Software Architect for Naval Business
As a Platform Software Architect, you will join a multidisciplinary Agile team within the infrastructure group. This team is responsible for the entire development chain of the infrastructure platform for our combat management system, encompassing requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, validation, and product demonstrations. The infrastructure you will help develop is foundational, designed to support our products on navy ships for the next 30 years.
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the lead architect and other scrum team architects to define the technical vision and solutions.
- Designing robust software architecture for challenges within your scrum team.
- Leading, coaching, and providing technical management to a team of agile platform developers.
- Continuously improving software development processes to meet higher standards.
- Translating complex requirements into functional, actionable solutions.
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies to enhance and improve our products.
- Ensuring consistent compliance with best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborating effectively with stakeholders to understand and translate technical requirements.
What We Are Looking For:
You are an experienced architect passionate about specifying and designing IT infrastructure components and systems. You are committed to personal development, excelling in both hard and human skills. Your relevant hands-on experience includes:
- System / Software architect (5 years)
- Linux System (5 years, preferably RHEL distribution)
- Ansible automation engine (3 years)
- Cloud Native technologies (5 years)
- Network knowledge (3 years, CCNA/CCIP level)
- Experience with tools such as git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence.
You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT Service Management, or a comparable field. You possess excellent flexibility and can communicate fluently in English with all types of stakeholders, from technical teams to management.
