Junior Business Analyst at Thales
Thales is a global leader in aerospace, transportation, defence, security and space. Our Ottawa office has been a major trusted partner for DND and the Canadian Coast Guard, delivering integrated in-service support for naval vessels.
Position Overview: The Junior Business Analyst will document and mature naval in-service support processes using LEAN methodologies, develop Value Stream Maps (VSM), and identify process improvements. You will work closely with stakeholders, deliver requirements and propose engineering change proposals (ECPs) that enhance operational efficiency.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Document and refine business processes based on stakeholder feedback.
- Apply LEAN techniques including VSM to assess maturity levels.
- Formulate value propositions and develop ECPs.
- Analyze existing tools, processes, and data to identify gaps.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure consistent messaging across initiatives.
Regulatory and Compliance Requirements: Canadian Export Control, Controlled Goods, and Security Clearance are mandatory.
Basic Qualifications: 1+ year experience documenting business processes. Must demonstrate strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in enterprise architecture, design thinking workshops, and industry-specific contexts such as naval or aviation maintenance.
Additional Information: This is a hybrid role, primarily based in Ottawa, ON, with potential work sites in Halifax NS or Victoria BC. Occasional travel to east or west coast is required.
