Your Daily Life

At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the Elancourt site is one of Thales's most significant technological centers of excellence. The diversity and technicality of systems and equipment here involve expertise across more than 80 professions in high-tech defense, security, and digital services solutions.Within the Thales LAS France Elancourt Technical Competence Center, the Electronics Department is responsible for developing and maintaining electronic sub-assemblies for various products in the Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) domain. It gathers the necessary expertise and resources for digital, analog, power, and high-frequency electronic developments.Reporting to the Head of the Electronic Design Office (SBE), you will join the team responsible for the placement and routing of electronic boards and interconnection flexes.As a CAD Implanter, working closely with board designers, your main responsibilities will include:
  • In the upstream phase, conducting pre-placement studies for electronic boards to verify feasibility regarding surface area and footprint, and to identify technological risks.
  • In the design phase, performing the placement and routing of all types of electronic boards (high-density digital, analog, power, high-frequency) and interconnection flexes.
  • Liaising with board manufacturers to integrate fabrication and testability constraints.
  • Completing the definition file after the Placement & Routing phase, in compliance with our standards.
To successfully carry out these activities, you will interact with various representatives from disciplines contributing to electronic board development: designers, industrialization managers, EMC specialists, testability experts, thermal engineers, and technologists.

Your Profile

You hold a BAC +2 or +3 degree and have experience in:
  • Mastery of CAD tools for board placement & routing (Cadence or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of electronics.
  • Understanding of the electronic board manufacturing process (PCB/PCBA).
  • Good interpersonal skills for teamwork with various disciplines involved in electronic board development.
