About the Role

At Textron, we are pioneering the future of aviation with our cutting-edge flight control systems. As a Flight Control Systems Engineer, you will contribute to designing and testing advanced systems for aircraft including modern tilt-rotor and future vertical lift technologies.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be involved in:

  • Designing and testing flight control systems for various advanced aircraft projects.
  • Developing system architectures and integrating hardware and software components.
  • Ensuring compliance with both commercial and military regulatory standards.
  • Implementing embedded system solutions using RTOS and Model Based Design tools like MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Conducting system safety assessments, failure hazard analysis, and designing test plans.

Skills You Bring To this Role

Relevant experience in embedded system development including:

  • System architecture design and requirement derivation
  • Experience with industry standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and others
  • Embedded software development in real-time environments
  • Knowledge of flight control systems, avionics, and associated hardware/software
  • Familiarity with system integration and test in both lab and flight test environments

Qualifications & Benefits

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science is required. Advanced degrees are valued. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
