Role Overview
The Postdoctoral Scientist - Schistosome Evolutionary Genetics will work on schistosome parasites, performing experimental and functional analyses in a laboratory setting. The role includes conducting genetic crosses for linkage analysis of parasite traits and investigating the genomic impact and phenotypic consequences of interspecific hybridization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and analyze schistosome parasites in lab experiments.
- Conduct genetic crosses and linkage analyses.
- Develop projects on evolutionary genomics and hybridization impacts.
- Collaborate with international researchers, including field sample work.
- Utilize outstanding computational and wet lab facilities.
Our Ideal Candidate
A motivated individual with a Ph.D. in evolutionary biology, genetics, molecular biology, or a related discipline. Strong bioinformatics skills and the ability to conduct and supervise laboratory research are desirable. Experience with schistosome parasites is not required.
