Job Summary

This data science-like role involves applied research in transportation planning. The position serves as a task lead for research projects, proposal development, and report preparation, working independently with minimal oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate research projects and tasks.
  • Collect, analyze, and archive data using various programming languages.
  • Develop applications and utilize data science methods for visualization.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams including students and junior staff.
  • Engage with sponsors and present research outcomes.

Required Education & Experience

Master’s degree in statistics, engineering, planning or related field and at least five years of relevant professional experience.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS ACCESS, SQL, VBA
  • Experience with visualization software like Tableau
  • Knowledge of statistical software such as R, SPSS, SAS
  • Geospatial analysis and Python skills

Additional Information

This position is based in the TTI Austin office with a hybrid remote option requiring at least two days a week in-office. Salary range is $92K - $110K, determined by qualifications and experience. Employment is contingent on funding, performance, and background checks.
