Job Summary
This data science-like role involves applied research in transportation planning. The position serves as a task lead for research projects, proposal development, and report preparation, working independently with minimal oversight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate research projects and tasks.
- Collect, analyze, and archive data using various programming languages.
- Develop applications and utilize data science methods for visualization.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams including students and junior staff.
- Engage with sponsors and present research outcomes.
Required Education & Experience
Master’s degree in statistics, engineering, planning or related field and at least five years of relevant professional experience.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS ACCESS, SQL, VBA
- Experience with visualization software like Tableau
- Knowledge of statistical software such as R, SPSS, SAS
- Geospatial analysis and Python skills
Additional Information
This position is based in the TTI Austin office with a hybrid remote option requiring at least two days a week in-office. Salary range is $92K - $110K, determined by qualifications and experience. Employment is contingent on funding, performance, and background checks.
