Civil Engineering Technologist - Materials and Construction Services
Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join our Materials and Construction Services team in Calgary, AB. This is a temporary hourly contract position, expected to last through November or December, dependent on weather conditions.

Your Role
- Working on transportation infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects in both field and laboratory environments.
- Performing field testing of soil, aggregates, and concrete, including plastic concrete testing, making samples for laboratory testing, and density testing using nuclear density gauges.
- Assisting in providing quality control and quality assurance on a variety of laboratory and field-testing related projects.
- Assisting in the preparation of field-testing reports.
- Conducting other duties required to conduct our business and build on job knowledge.
- Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursuing continuous professional development and maintaining a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Working in a safe manner at all times and reporting all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- A Civil Engineering Technology diploma is preferred.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and provide a current driver's abstract when applying.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to accurately and timely document sampling and testing information.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and listening skills.
- Good time management skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to contribute to the Practice as a team player.
- Willingness to travel and work in a field setting away from headquarters.
- CSA approved Steel Toed Safety Boots required.
- Physically capable of performing the required manual labor duties.
