Senior Automation Engineer
Job Summary:
Based in Paris, France, you will join a virtual European team dedicated to Packaging Automation Life Cycle Support. This role requires 50-60% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement automation projects and services in packaging and standard service products.
- Contribute to new product development and provide comprehensive technical support to clients for automation solutions.
- Support the sales force throughout the commercial process, including understanding needs, developing solutions, and highlighting benefits.
- Collaborate closely with global and local A&D teams, pre-project and project teams, Service teams, and Packaging Solutions.
- Translate client needs into effective automation solutions.
- Prepare, design, and implement automation projects.
- Coordinate work with automation engineers, consultants, and suppliers.
- Gather and verify necessary technical documentation.
- Provide technical concepts for pre-sales and pre-project phases.
- Offer remote assistance, service, and start-up support for Tetra Pak equipment.
- Commission Tetra Pak Line Controllers.
- Diagnose and intervene on low voltage, very low voltage, and database systems.
- Work on various automation platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff).
- Modify PLC programs and recommission installations.
- Finalize project transfers and collaborate with sales and technical teams for problem resolution.
- Write intervention reports and provide necessary documentation to clients and the office.
- Document service activities and update client data (equipment, contracts, etc.).
- Conduct client visits to resolve technical issues in support of Account Managers and Service Managers.
Candidate Profile:
- University degree in Information Technology or Automation with 5-7 years of experience, ideally in the liquid food industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in automation, MES, industrial IT, and data management.
- Experience or training in automation, electrical/electronic engineering, or control systems.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial automation experience.
- Strong command of the Rockwell platform; Beckhoff is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English and French.
- Excellent written, oral, and computer communication skills.
- Strong customer service and collaboration skills.
