About the Role
Tesla is seeking a talented UX Designer to shape the future of Tesla.com. You will be responsible for researching, designing, innovating, prototyping, and testing new digital experiences that will define the future of Tesla's online presence. Your work will impact how consumers, businesses, and municipalities transition to EVs and sustainable energy, and embrace an autonomous future.
As part of the UX Design team, you will be instrumental in transforming the digital experiences for Tesla's global products and services. You will collaborate closely with sales teams, product owners, designers, engineers, and global partners, acting as a key contributor and originator. Your role will involve conceptualizing, designing, measuring the impact of, and implementing best-in-class digital experiences to empower customers to discover and learn about Tesla with confidence and excitement. We are looking for exceptional design skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a keen sense of aesthetics, aiming for experiences that are innovative, simple, and intuitive.
What You'll Do
- Research and define UX strategy, contributing to the overall product and design direction from concept to implementation.
- Develop creative and innovative design solutions for product education and purchase experiences to guide diverse customer segments.
- Continuously measure design performance against target customers and iterate for improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers and partners, building strong relationships and trust with stakeholders.
- Present work regularly to partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Define and share Tesla UX design standards and guidelines, advocating for consistency across teams and partners.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, or equivalent project experience demonstrated through a strong portfolio.
- 5+ years of experience designing interactive web applications.
- An excellent portfolio showcasing user experience, visual design, and UI work with a strong design sensibility and user-centric storytelling.
- Excellent visual, UI, and interaction design skills, with the ability to tackle complex interaction design challenges.
- Customer-focused approach, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently while also thriving in a collaborative environment driven by group critique.
- Ability to perform under minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-stress, iterative design process.
