NPU RTL Design Engineer, AI Hardware at Tesla

The Tesla AI Hardware team is at the forefront of revolutionizing artificial intelligence through cutting-edge hardware innovation. By creating custom silicon and optimized architectures, the team ensures Tesla remains a leader in AI-driven automotive and energy solutions, shaping a future where intelligent machines enhance human life.

The Tesla AI Hardware team is looking for an RTL Designer for our cutting-edge neural accelerator IP. Other than RTL implementation, the candidate is expected to participate in architectural/microarchitectural planning, performance/power evaluations, and PD closure. The RTL designer is the hub of the entire design cycle.

This is an in-office position to facilitate rapid iteration and problem solving with the team.

What You'll Do

  • Systemverilog RTL implementation
  • RTL debug with industry standard tools
  • Collaboration with other RTL designers
  • Supporting other teams such as DV, Performance, and PD
  • Occasionally presenting your work to superiors and a wider audience

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of full-time experience with CPU/GPU/NPU RTL design, and a willingness to tackle hard problems creatively
  • Experience with Systemverilog and industry standard tools design tools (Synopsys or Cadence)
  • Strong desire to work cooperatively with others
