About the role
Licensed Electrician - Residential Energy Operations
Tesla's Energy Field Operations team is seeking a skilled Licensed Electrician to lead installations of residential PV solar systems, Solar Roof, battery storage, and EV wall connectors. You will provide essential electrical expertise to ensure the successful installation of Tesla's energy products. Comprehensive training, tools, and equipment will be provided. Some positions include a company vehicle.
What You'll Do
- Complete residential Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
- Collaborate with peers and leadership to evaluate job requirements and costs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical component and system issues.
- Lead efforts in promoting safe work practices for the Field Operations team.
- Provide exceptional customer service, educating clients and offering real-time job status updates.
- Document and update job status accurately in the company database.
- Participate in training sessions and weekly team meetings covering new products, installation methods, and safety protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- A valid state Journeyman Electrician License and a strong understanding of NEC codes.
- Ability to work at heights, including on rooftops, and climb ladders and stairs.
- Willingness to perform repetitive duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Capacity to work in diverse environmental conditions (e.g., extreme heat, cold, rain, crawl spaces).
- Must meet OSHA fall protection standards for working at heights (310 lbs. limit) and be able to climb and use equipment, including ladders rated for 325 lbs.
- Must meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes) with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs. and be able to climb and utilize equipment, including ladders rated for 325 lbs.
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools and essential computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong customer service abilities.
- Ability to safely handle electrical equipment and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, batteries, etc.
- Possess compliant government-issued identification for domestic air travel or access to federal facilities.
- A valid driver's license is required.
