About the role
Licensed Electrician - Residential Energy Operations
Join Tesla’s Energy Field Operations team as a skilled Licensed Electrician. You will play a key role in the installation of residential PV solar systems, Solar Roof, battery storage, and EV wall connectors. This position offers the opportunity to provide essential electrical expertise, contributing to the successful deployment of Tesla’s innovative energy products. Comprehensive training, tools, and equipment will be provided. Some positions include a company vehicle.
What You'll Do
- Complete residential Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
- Collaborate with peers and leadership to evaluate job requirements and costs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical component and system issues.
- Lead initiatives focused on safe work practices for the Field Operations team.
- Provide exceptional customer service by educating clients and offering real-time job status updates.
- Document and update job status in the company database.
- Participate in training sessions and weekly team meetings covering new products, installation methods, and safety protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- A valid state Journeyman Electrician License and a strong understanding of NEC codes.
- Ability to work at heights, including rooftops, and climb ladders and stairs.
- Capacity to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in diverse environmental conditions (e.g., extreme heat/cold, rain, crawl spaces).
- Must meet OSHA fall protection standards for working at heights (limited at 310 lbs.).
- Ability to climb and utilize on-site equipment, including ladders rated for 325 lbs. (Standard 1926.502 (d)(16)(v)).
- Must meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs.
- Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills are essential.
- Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other electrical equipment, lumber, and roofing materials.
- Possession of compliant government-issued identification for domestic air travel and/or access to federal facilities.
- A valid driver's license is required.

Expected Compensation
- Electrician I, Energy: $23.22 - $34.83/hour
- Electrician II, Energy: $27.11 - $40.66/hour
- Electrician III, Energy: $31.75 - $47.63/hour
- Electrician IV, Energy: $35.53 - $53.30/hour
- Electrician V, Energy: $40.82 - $61.24/hour
+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels. Pay offered may vary based on individual factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include other elements. Benefit plan details will be provided upon offer of employment.
