Job Description

What To Expect

Join Tesla’s vehicle operations team to support Tesla's Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Full Self-Driving (FSD) (Supervised), in real-world ride-sharing scenarios. As an AI Safety Operator, you’ll act as the bridge between FSD (Supervised) and passengers, ensuring seamless pickups, drop-offs, and route navigation in dynamic environments. This role demands adaptability, strong customer service skills, and a steadfast commitment to refining ADAS technology through hands-on passenger interactions.

This opportunity will require the flexibility of traveling to domestic destinations, as necessary. You'll also need the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes at least one weekend day, across Day, Afternoon, or Night shifts. Afternoon and Night shifts offer an additional 10-15% pay.

What You'll Do

  • Operate Tesla engineering vehicles with FSD (Supervised) during 6–8 hour daily shifts, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort.
  • Manage rider interactions including greetings, route adjustments, and troubleshooting passenger concerns.
  • Navigate challenging environments such as construction zones, pedestrian-heavy areas, and traffic congestion while monitoring FSD (Supervised) performance. Intervene as necessary to ensure safe operations.
  • Ensure vehicle readiness through comprehensive pre-shift safety checks, including sensor calibration, software status, and cleanliness.
  • Travel domestically as needed to support testing in diverse cities and varying weather conditions.
  • Provide detailed feedback and suggest process improvements to optimize data collection and system performance.
  • Write thorough daily drive reports documenting all observations and issues encountered.

What You'll Bring

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Strong situational awareness is crucial for identifying and reacting to hazards such as cyclists, jaywalkers, and obscured signage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for clear reporting and passenger interaction.
  • Tech-savvy with demonstrated experience managing tools for data collection and proficient troubleshooting with advanced PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Overtime is typical for this position but not guaranteed.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, subject to drug testing in accordance with Tesla policy and applicable law.
