Rectenna Engineer at TerraSpark
We are seeking a Rectenna Engineer who is passionate about making ambitious ideas real. Work alongside another rectenna engineer to design and build rectenna solutions for wireless power transmission (WPT) prototypes and future Space-Based Solar Power (SBSP) systems.
What You’ll Do
- Design, simulate, and deliver GHz-range rectenna systems for demonstrators and future products.
- Optimize RF-to-DC conversion circuits using harmonic balance and impedance techniques.
- Tackle RF, matching, and power conversion challenges for maximum efficiency.
- Lead hardware prototyping, lab builds, and support on-site integration for WPT campaigns.
- Define and run RF/DC test setups using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and iterate designs based on test analyses.
- Conduct R&D on advanced rectenna concepts for future full-scale SBSP systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with high-efficiency RF-DC rectifiers and WPT systems.
- Proficiency in RF/EM simulation and rectifier/PCB design using tools like HFSS, ADS, or AWR.
- Expertise in nonlinear circuit simulation and impedance optimization techniques.
- Solid knowledge of antenna theory, rectifier design, and RF safety constraints.
- Proven skills in planning and executing RF measurements and data analysis.
- Ability to take initiative, own projects, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
