Job Description
IT Support Technician at Terraformation
Terraformation is dedicated to reversing climate change by restoring native forests globally. We develop and deliver technical solutions to overcome key challenges in native forest restoration for our partners and customers. In this role, the IT Support Technician will provide essential technical solutions and support to all internal teams, directly contributing to Terraformation's overarching mission. Our Information Technology team aims to enhance and streamline processes through technology, enabling employees to work more effectively. With a distributed workforce spanning nearly all time zones, the technologies and processes we implement are critical to our collective success.
Location: Remote; EST preferred
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000, plus equity (depending on location and experience)
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming support requests regarding software, services, hardware, or networking issues promptly.
- Manage and track the ticketing system, ensuring all employees receive timely updates on their support requests.
- Document processes, solutions, or problems in a way that helps the Information Technology team scale solutions across the company.
- Notify direct leadership regarding recurring issues or patterns of problems within the environment; actively seek solutions to systemic issues, and present proposed solutions to the team for implementation.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate team member when necessary.
- Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of employee and company-sensitive data.
- Perform assigned tasks promptly with accuracy, efficiency, and empathy.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent required, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge and expertise.
- At least 2 years of experience providing IT support to an organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience providing technical support and solutions to customers.
- Ability to think critically about problems and solve them independently.
- Knowledge of IT systems.
- Excellent time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing IT systems, including Google Workspace, Google Docs Suite, Microsoft Azure AD & Office 365, AWS, Cloud storage solutions (Google Drive, Dropbox, Google Cloud Platform, AWS/S3), Single Sign On and Identity Management, and Email & Chat services administration.
- Customer Service training or certification.
