We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler to play a pivotal role in a large-scale data integration initiative. This opportunity arises from a major banking merger, requiring expertise in defining robust data schemas, structures, and quality standards. This is a pure design and architecture position, focusing on unifying disparate banking systems into a cohesive, scalable environment, rather than a development or engineering role.

Key Responsibilities

• Logical & Physical Modeling: Design complex schemas that effectively bridge legacy systems from both organizations involved in the merger.
• Integration Mapping: Thoroughly identify overlaps and critical gaps in data structures between the two merging banks, ensuring reconciliation of differing definitions (e.g., for "Customer" or "Transaction").
• Data Governance: Establish and define comprehensive data quality rules, access controls, and crucial metadata standards to guarantee adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
• Schema Evolution: Develop forward-thinking, future-state data models capable of supporting high-volume banking transactions and sophisticated analytical reporting needs.
• Collaboration: Serve as the essential bridge connecting Business Analysts, who provide requirements, with Data Engineers, who handle implementation.

Technical Profile & Tooling Options

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated mastery in one or more of the following technical categories:

• Data Modeling Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Erwin Data Modeler, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner.
• Cloud Data Warehouses: Experience with modern cloud platforms like Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Transformation/Logic: Expertise in dbt (Data Build Tool), SQL-based views, or Data Vault 2.0 methodologies.
• Data Quality/Catalog: Familiarity with tools such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog.
• Database Engines: Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Teradata (Legacy), or PostgreSQL.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ Years in Data Modeling: A proven track record of success in large-scale enterprise environments, with a strong preference for experience within Financial Services or Banking sectors.
• Advanced SQL: Demonstrated deep ability to query and analyze complex datasets effectively to reverse-engineer existing schemas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with banking-specific data standards, including BCBS 239, AML/KYC data requirements.
• Merger Experience: Previous, valuable experience in "Mapping & Gap Analysis" specifically during corporate acquisitions or significant system migrations.
