Job Description
Vehicle Dynamics Engineer
Supports the R&D advanced product engineering team in the definitions of vehicle dynamics performance targets, system architecture for new projects and improvements of existing products. Facilitates the understanding of damper system performance influences on vehicle dynamics.
Key Product Performance Criteria
- Takes the lead in setting key product performance criteria for vehicle dynamics.
- Create methodology & definitions to set objective performance criteria for vehicle performances (ride comfort & handling).
- Support new technology developments (in hardware & software) for vehicle performance target achievements.
- Completion of subjective & objective vehicle performance evaluations and measurements.
- Act as point of reference in case of vehicle dynamics related performance issues.
System Architecture Integration
- Define proper system architecture to ensure best possible integration of the product onto the vehicle.
- Lead development team in their understanding of the implications involved when integrating the product into the vehicle suspension.
- Support benchmarking activities to understand market trends in system architecture.
Vehicle Dynamics Simulation
- Support the development team in the area of vehicle dynamics simulation.
- Develop the methodology to simulate vehicle dynamics performance from a product performance point of view.
- Ensure the proper cascading of vehicle performance targets to product performance targets.
