Job Summary: Medical Abstractor Cardiology
The Medical Abstractor Cardiology supports clinical performance by utilizing specialty registries and databases to meticulously abstract data elements from patient records. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and safe care practice requirements. The data identified and analyzed by this team member is crucial for ongoing quality initiatives, providing safe and evidence-based care, and meeting the stringent demands of regulatory and accrediting entities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects specific data elements from patient electronic medical records (abstracts), verifies their alignment with established guidelines, and accurately enters these data elements into a designated computer database or registry site.
- Performs rigorous validation checks on all entered data to guarantee completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. Strict adherence to all data entry deadlines is mandatory.
- Upholds information system security and maintains absolute patient confidentiality at all times.
- Engages in ongoing communication with customer hospitals, Clinical Quality departments, and other relevant stakeholders as necessary to effectively resolve any documentation issues or discrepancies.
- Actively seeks feedback and guidance for performance improvement from the Clinical Quality Analyst Educator and Manager, fostering continuous professional development.
Qualifications
Required:
- Clinical experience within cardiology, encompassing case management, diagnostic procedures, and/or abstracting/chart navigation of cardiology cases.
Education:
- Medical allied graduate (Preferably BS Nursing OR BS Pharmacy).
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience with EMR/EHR systems.
- Experience in medical records data entry and/or review.
- Currently unemployed/rendering.
Work Arrangement
This role begins with 3-5 months of mandatory onsite training at BGC, Taguig. Endorsement to a hybrid work setup will be determined based on performance during the training period. The hybrid setup involves 1 week of Return-to-Office (RTO) every month. Candidates must be willing to work a day shift schedule (8 AM-5 PM), which may vary depending on the specific registry or measure assigned. The start date for this position is April 06, 2026.
