Role Summary

The Staff Solutions Architect, Growth is Temporal's primary customer-facing technical leader within the Growth team. Located in the Western United States, this role works directly with prospects and customers, guiding them on the suitability of their applications for Temporal’s platform while showcasing the technical advantages of our cloud service. You will play a key role in positioning Temporal against competing technologies and nurturing technical relationships with decision-makers.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with prospects to evaluate application fit.
  • Educate customers on benefits and limitations of the platform.
  • Position Temporal against alternative technologies.
  • Foster adoption within customer engineering organizations.
  • Partner with Account Executives for strategic account planning.
  • Manage relationships with technical decision-makers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Residency in Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, or Seattle, WA areas.
  • Exceptional technical communication skills (presenting, whiteboarding, writing).
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and design principles.
  • Proficiency in Temporal supported languages such as Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
  • Understanding of operational production considerations (security, performance, cost management).
  • Experience with major cloud providers and production services.
  • Ability to act as a strategic technical advisor in sales engagements.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary is estimated between $240,000 and $300,000 with a 70/30 variable split, plus eligibility for Temporal's equity plan. Benefits include unlimited PTO, comprehensive medical coverage, 401K plan, and various perks for work-from-home, career development, and lifestyle spending. International benefits vary and are provided through Remote.com.
