Job Description

About Tempo Software

With over 30,000 customers, including a third of Fortune 500 companies, Tempo is trusted by organizations across the globe to make their workflows work better.

We create a suite of integrated solutions for time management, resource planning, budget management, roadmapping, program management, reporting and more. We create the tech that enables the modern team to deliver – for every step from first vision to value.

Since our beginning in 2007 as a project to make a time-tracking tool to help a client – Tempo has expanded to become the #1 time management add-on for Jira, and we have developed and acquired a multitude of tools to become one of the most trusted names in the Atlassian ecosystem.

We want everyone to work better – but we also want to be a tech company with a heart. Join us as we continuously innovate our award-winning products, create new solutions, and help the world work smarter, not harder.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Product Designer to help shape thoughtful, intuitive user experiences across Tempo’s product suite. In this individual contributor role, you’ll own the end-to-end design of features or smaller product areas and work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Research to turn user and business needs into high-quality solutions.

You’ll contribute meaningfully to discovery, execution, and delivery while learning to navigate tradeoffs, constraints, and real-world product complexity.

What You’ll Do as a Product Designer

  • End-to-End Design Ownership: Own design for features or focused product areas from discovery through delivery. Your work will have a visible impact across meaningful parts of the product.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a strong design partner to Product Managers and Engineers. Proactively contribute ideas, help resolve tradeoffs, and collaborate closely to move work forward.
  • User-Centered Decision Making: Understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Make thoughtful design decisions that balance usability, feasibility, and business value.
  • Quality & Execution: Consistently deliver high-quality design work across the product lifecycle. Manage scope effectively, communicate progress clearly, and raise risks early.
  • Design Systems & Consistency: Apply and contribute to Tempo’s design system to ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across products.
  • Team Contribution & Growth: Lead by example within projects. Support more junior designers through feedback and collaboration, without formal mentoring expectations.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a Product Designer working on B2B or SaaS products, with ownership of features or small product areas.
  • Design Craft: Strong skills in UI design, visual design, and information architecture. You produce thoughtful, polished work and can clearly explain your design decisions.
  • Product Thinking: You understand how design decisions connect to user outcomes and business goals, and you’re comfortable navigating tradeoffs.
  • Collaboration: A reliable partner to Product and Engineering who communicates clearly, works well across disciplines, and contributes constructively to team discussions.
  • Autonomy & Ownership: Comfortable owning your work, managing priorities, and delivering within constraints while asking for guidance when needed.
  • Tools: Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma. Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) is a plus.

Why Join Tempo?

  • Impact: Work on meaningful products that empower enterprise users and improve productivity.
  • Innovation: Be part of a culture that values creativity and innovation, with opportunities to make a real impact.
  • Collaboration: Join a supportive, collaborative UX team that values openness, communication, and a continuous learning environment.
  • Growth: Opportunities for professional development, including conferences, courses, and mentorship.
