This job posting is specifically for the Next-Generation Networking Services stream of the Graduate Technology Leadership Program.

The Graduate Technology Leadership Program features three distinct streams: Next-Generation Networking Services, Cybersecurity Applications, and Software and AI Solutions.

We strongly recommend choosing only one stream: the one that interests you most and best matches your skills and experience.

Your Responsibilities in the Next-Generation Networking Services Stream:

During the 9-month program, you will be successively assigned to three different teams to gain strategic business expertise and leadership skills. Rotations are designed to accelerate your development. After your first assignment, you will have the opportunity to move to other streams (Next-Generation Networking Services and Cybersecurity Applications).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transforming traditional network infrastructure into intelligent cloud-based systems.
  • Improving sustainability through intelligent network optimization.
  • Enhancing customer experience with reliable and high-performance connectivity.
  • Driving the evolution towards hyper-connected 5G technology and Open Radio Access Networks.
  • Implementing AI-powered network optimization and automation solutions.

In this stream, you will gain practical experience with modern tools and technologies essential for a world-class technology company. You will also develop skills in one or some of the following areas:

  • 5G Infrastructure and Radio Access Network: Deploying and optimizing 5G networks, automating network slicing for IoT and enterprise use cases, and developing performance monitoring solutions for coverage and quality.
  • Cloud Network Engineering and NFV/SDN: Migrating network functions to cloud environments, implementing virtualization to replace hardware devices, and building multi-cloud network solutions for AWS, Azure, and on-premises systems.
  • Network Automation: Creating machine learning models for predictive maintenance and congestion management, building self-healing systems in case of failure, and developing zero-touch configuration for network equipment.
  • Network Operations and Performance Engineering: Creating real-time monitoring systems for latency and throughput, developing analytics platforms that correlate network performance and customer satisfaction, and developing proactive alerting and quality assurance tools.
  • Network Architecture and Strategic Planning: Designing energy-efficient and scalable network architectures, developing sustainable solutions that reduce carbon emissions, and optimizing network routing to balance performance, cost, and energy consumption.

Assignments will depend on your strengths, professional interests, and the strategic needs of the company. Consult our website to learn more about our different streams: https://www.telus.com/en/about/careers/rated-technology-leadership-program
