Position Overview

This Territory Manager role at Tela Bio Inc is responsible for generating sales of the OviTex product portfolio within the assigned territory. The candidate will build strong relationships with surgeons, hospital administrators, and nursing staff to ensure proper usage of FDA cleared products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Educate physicians on the benefits and use of OviTex.
  • Communicate complex clinical data for appropriate product selection.
  • Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and commercial development teams.
  • Develop business plans to meet short-term revenue and long-term goals.
  • Maintain and update the Company’s CRM with current information.
  • Participate in national and regional team meetings to share best practices.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred or minimum 3+ years of life science sales experience, ideally in the biologics arena with additional experience in hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, or plastic/soft tissue reconstruction.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with biologic tissue-based materials.
  • Knowledge of clinical needs and host response mechanisms.
  • Ability to identify new market opportunities for biologic constructs.
  • Strong multitasking skills with focus on timelines and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment and ability to formulate business solutions.
  • Collaborative team player with a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

The candidate must be able to lift up to 20 lbs, stand for several hours, and attend long surgical procedures. This role operates in multiple settings including home office, hospital, HCP offices, or clinical environments.

Primary Location & Travel

This role is based in Austin, TX with frequent travel up to 50% within the territory and required attendance at corporate and commercial meetings.
